The Forest Foray Report

THE FOREST FORAY was considered by everyone who took part to be a very enjoyable event during a beautiful afternoon. 12 members arrived and formed 5 teams. Armed with maps, instructions, clues and tasks to be completed, the teams visited 5 surprise locations by using subtle information and then it was a case of earning points by using the powers of observation.

The event started at 1.30pm and all the teams had completed by 4.30pm, re-assembling at Deerleap. All the completed sheets were collected and kept for marking, while the teams were issued with all the correct answers and information.

There were plenty of comments like, '..of course' or 'why didn't I think of that' and '..I saw that, but didn't cotton on..'

At the end among the many conclusions mentioned were things like..'a really enjoyable afternoon' 'one of the most interesting things we've done for a long time' 'really great, when are we having another one?' 'good fun, fresh air and good company'

However the final results:

1st The U4A 72 points
2nd The Bennys 69 pts
3rd Being Clever 59 pts
4th The Terrible Two 51 pts
5th The Twitchers 50.5 pts.
